When EF Explore America’s Washington, D.C. operations team moved into their new minimalist office near the National Mall, they were in need of a bold focal point to bring personality into the space—particularly as it’s visible to the thousands of tourists who pass through the popular building that houses it. And while Explore America is known for offering school trips to D.C. and New York, the team wanted to celebrate (and promote) the full range of destinations their groups travel to across North America. And so, at last, I was able to fulfill my dream of designing an homage to classic subway sign typography.
